What I like most about my local coffee cafes are the different types of coffees I can get from them. What I don’t like are the prices for those cups of coffee.
I went around my town to different coffee shops. I visited some that are only local to my area and some that are nationwide. They all offered coffees that taste good, but there was one local coffee cafe that offered the atmosphere I loved, the Barista knows me very well, and the prices are hard to beat. Can you guess who that was??
Yep, it was mythings2do Cafe.
It takes a little bit of an initial investment but the pay off is worth it.
As you can tell I like to recycle and reuse items.
The most important piece of equipment on my coffee station is my coffee grinder.
I use this thing on a daily basis and if I’m in an all-day coffee mood this grinder gets used several times a day. The day before I ground coffee beans for the first time, was the last day I purchased ground coffee. Girl let me tell you there is no comparison to freshly ground coffee. The other advantage of buying whole bean coffee is that you don’t have to purchase a whole bag of coffee when you want to try a new flavor of coffee. And when you find your favorite an entire bag is the same price as one cup of coffee at one of those other coffee places.
I’m a Hazelnut “nut”. I love hazelnut coffee and right now it’s the only flavor of coffee beans I have. That’s the beauty of grinding your own coffee you can have any flavor you want ground fresh daily.
I have a few things premade because I’m never quite sure what I’ll be in the mood for.
Some days I just want a cool refreshing Iced coffee, other times a Caramel Frappuccino, maybe a Cappuccino or oh an Espresso, or maybe just a good ole cup of Jo. 🙂
Other than making a cup of coffee using my Keurig, this was the easiest of my favorite coffees to make. I love that I can have this coffee over ice or not. Either way, it’s cold and perfect for hot weather.
I’ve stood in line many a day to order that beverage. The days of standing in line for my favorite Frappuccino have ended.
This is another easy to make recipe. This recipe uses two of my station’s equipment. Well, 3 if you include the K-cup.
Fill an ice cube tray with brewed coffee..
Once frozen, add the cubes to your blender with simple sugar and creamer (see video above for creamer recipe).
I added a few regular ice cubes because I like my frapps extra icey.
Blend until it becomes the consistency you like. Now to fill my glass.
I used Caramel sauce for ice cream and poured it into the bottom of my glass.
Fill the glass with all that frapp goodness and top with whipped cream. (on this day I used store bought whip cream) Drizzle caramel sauce and this is the most important step…. Enjoy.
While in Amsterdam I got hooked on Cappuccinos. I came home and just had to buy an Espresso machine that also made Cappuccinos. I found this one the Capresso.
To make Cappuccinos is as simple as brewing the coffee
Steaming the milk or in my case creamer
Then I pour the coffee into my glass, pour the steamed creamer and spoon the froth on top.
There we go. Some of my favorite cafe coffees made right in my own kitchen.
