I love eating Chicken and Waffles then one day I had some left over chicken from a cookout and decided to make Chicken in Waffles.
Any waffle recipe will do well with this. I added the Belgian Waffle recipe because it’s so good. But when in a hurry I’ve used the quick box mix and everything still tasted great.
I’ve made both a savory Chicken “in” Waffles for dinner and sweet for breakfast.
Just add your favorite sweet syrup and enjoy
To make a roux, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over med to med low heat. I cooked butter until it browned then whisked in 2 tablespoons flour and cooked the flour for an additional minute. Add 1 cup milk and 1 cup heavy cream and continue whisking. Salt and pepper to taste and 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning.
Spoon roux over waffles and enjoy!
